It is a lovely time of year where we take a moment to celebrate and be grateful for all that the wheel’s past few turns have brought to us. It’s harvest time, in a full sense, not just the crops, fruits, nuts and berries but our own energy and manifestations. The term ‘fruits of our labour’ is a good way of looking at it.
If you don’t have one already, it is a nice time to start writing in a gratitude journal or notebook.
It is a good time to take a moment to reflect and ground ourselves. Did all of your seeds flourish? Maybe they didn’t – if they didn’t, that is okay. Is there a lesson here? Spend some quiet time reflecting on why this is so. Living mindfully teaches us not to look back, but reflection can teach us many things. However, I don’t advise you to spend any time thinking about Hindsight. It’s a waste of energy, it often brings sorrow and most of the time, there is nothing you can do about it. Be compassionate with yourself if you feel things haven’t gone as you had hoped for.
Maybe your seeds bloomed exactly how you wished them too. Do you wish to continue with these intentions? Nurture them and take them into the incubation period of winter.
The natural world cycle is moving towards completion, the Sun’s power is waning and from now on the nights grow longer, and the days are shorter. The tree sap starts to return to their roots, changing the green of summer to autumn fire, to the flaming reds, oranges and golds.
It is time to complete projects, clear out, and let go of anything that is no longer wanted or needed.
The apple is the symbol of the Fruit Harvest. The apple is a symbol for life and immortality, for healing, renewal, regeneration and wholeness.
If you cut an apple widthways, it will show a pentagram containing seeds. The pentagram has five points, each representing a different element; Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. It is also symbolic towards the four directional points, East, South, West and North. The final direction is within.
