Most would call this section a blog section. Although, I prefer to call it the ‘news’ section. I’m not very good at blogging. In fact, I’m awful at it!
I’ve spent way too long over the years trying to suss out how best to blog, and my findings are…just don’t do it Tanya!
So in this section, you will find some random ramblings from me about topics that I feel I want to write about.
I do think it’s important to introduce myself though, and without stressing too much about getting it right, I’m going to throw caution to the wind and just go for it. I’m a perfectionist when it comes to things like writing. I think that’s why I don’t write much because I spend hours and hours rewriting and editing, only to never actually publish anything.
So without further ado…
I’m an Aquarian Capricorn, 50yrs young. I have a 13yr old daughter, Hanna and a cat called Slinky.
We live in the magical lands of Cornwall, England. I always knew I’d end up living in Cornwall. My best friend and I used to sit and dream about our future together. I never knew at the time that I was actually seeding my future. We used to dream about owning a healing sanctuary, cafe, crystal shop. Nearly 30yrs on…I now have that Crystal shop, and if you’re lucky, you might get offered a coffee too!
So, what happened in the last 30yrs? I don’t want to scare you away too soon, so I won’t give you ALL the details, but we moved to Cornwall in 2005, after living and flying high in London! I used to work in telecoms in the early ’90s. I ended up in the media world, working in corporate publishing houses and media, finishing up as a financial negotiator for the BBC, (so, if you want a deal, be smart?). The lifestyle I’d become accustomed to in London was slowly killing me. It reached a stage of no return when a near-death experience gave me the wake-up call I needed. I packed my bags, sold up, and fled for the Cornish coast. It was the best thing I ever did. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t regret any of it. My past life experiences have made me who I am today. I’m incredibly grateful for them, they’ve allowed me to help hundreds of people.
When I arrived in Cornwall, I started working for a social enterprise, the Jamie Oliver Foundation. We helped disadvantaged young adults (16 to 24) to find employment by training them to be chefs. I’m not a chef, it was my responsibility to look after their welfare and transition into the big wide world after qualifying as chefs.
The work I did with the apprentices gave me an awareness of the importance of professional conduct and ethical responsibilities. So, I decided to study for a degree in counselling and psychotherapy. I started work at a private rehab centre here in Cornwall. It was the first place where I got the opportunity to incorporate my vibrational energy healing with my counselling skills. A lot happened between the years of 2005 and 2012. It was during 2006 that I really started working with crystals. I completed a number of different courses on crystal healing. I completed a 3yrs, hands-on ACHO accredited diploma. I’m also a Usui Reiki Master and Sound therapist.
I’d been collecting, trading, and selling crystals for quite a few years before opening my Etsy shop. A year later I opened the doors to my bricks and mortar shop (it isn’t really bricks and mortar because it’s a log cabin. Still, you get what I mean). Currently, the shop is closed. I hope to re-open in 2022.
I now sell crystals full time, and I sometimes offer counselling and healing (I’d be doing it more if I had the time).
My new dream, one that I’ve been seeding for quite a while, is where you find yourself now. This new space, my website, is a place where I hope you’ll want to stay for a while. I want the experience to be a nice one for you. I hope this will become a place where you will want to visit often.
If you got this far, I bow graciously to you, I’m grateful, thank you.
Sending love, always.
