Description

Gem quality Heliodor flat bottom hearts.

Big isn’t always best! When something so exquisite comes your way, no matter how small….it’s love at first sight.⁣

These beauties are the finest, jewellery grade Heliodor puff hearts. I also have Aquamarine, Morganite and Kunzite 😮⁣

I get super excited about small beautiful crystals, much more than the larger crystals in my collection. Some of my favourite, treasured pieces are no heavier than 5g and smaller than a 5p piece! My Herkimers for example, some of the Herkimer clusters I have are so beautiful they feel as big as a house. The same goes for these amazingly beautiful hearts. I love love love them. ⁣

Some of them have flat bottoms, some are small puff hearts. Whether you want to use them in jewellery, set them down in crystal grids or put them on a throne in a special place…..that is up to you.⁣. These ones are flat bottom hearts.

Big isn’t always beautiful. Some of the finest, most breathtaking crystals come in very small packages. If anyone told you size matters….rubbish! 😂

I’m a sucker for all things Beryl so when I saw these Heliodor hearts next to the Aquamarine I couldn’t say no.

Heliodor is a name used by mineralogists and gemologists for specimens of the mineral beryl with a yellow, greenish-yellow, or golden-yellow colour. Pure beryl is colourless, but impurities within the mineral cause beryl to occur in a variety of different colours. The yellowish colours of heliodor are usually caused by small amounts of iron within the mineral’s crystal structure. Yellow beryl and golden beryl are other appropriate names for Heliodor.

The name “heliodor” is derived from two Greek words: helios, which means “sun,” and doron, which means “gift.” They combine as “gift from the sun.
