Nuummite is about 3 billion years old 😮 It comes from the Archaean Eon, which began about 4 billion years ago with the formation of the Earth's crust and extended to the start of the Proterozoic Eon 2.5 billion years ago.

The main colour of Nuumite is black. It has flashes of colour, gold, orange, red, green and blue.

There is a crystal called Coppernite, which is often sold as Nuummite, but it isn't. Nuummite has streaks of colour, whereas Coppernite has square patches.
