Akasha feels like a fitting name for this Clear Quartz skull. In many traditions, the Akashic Records are said to be a storehouse of knowledge, memory, and wisdom, and there is something about this piece that carries that same sense of depth and quiet presence.
Carved from a substantial piece of Brazilian Clear Quartz, Akasha displays excellent transparency throughout much of the skull, balanced by fascinating internal landscapes of veils, fractures, rainbows, and natural inclusions. Around one of the eye sockets and towards the back of the skull are beautiful lodolite-like inclusions, creating miniature worlds suspended within the Quartz itself.
The craftsmanship is exceptional. The carving is clean and highly detailed, whilst still allowing the natural character of the crystal to remain the focal point. As the light moves through the skull, different features reveal themselves, making it a piece that continually offers something new to discover.
Large Quartz skulls of this quality are increasingly difficult to source, particularly those that combine good transparency, interesting inclusions, and a carving of this standard. At over 1.6kg, Akasha has a commanding presence whether displayed as a centrepiece, used for meditation work, or simply appreciated as a beautiful example of what nature and skilled craftsmanship can create together.
A magnificent Clear Quartz skull with remarkable clarity, fascinating internal worlds, and a presence that fully justifies its name.
