Bismuth

Bismuth is a mesmerising crystal. Known for its rainbow colours and unique, geometric structures that seem almost otherworldly.

I decided to bring some Bismuth to the shop because Christmas is just around the corner and it makes a perfect present for the younger ones - and us older ones too. 

Unlike many crystals that form naturally over time, Bismuth is created through a fascinating process of man-made transformation.

To make Bismuth, pure molten Bismuth is carefully cooled and solidified, causing it to crystallise in intricate stair-step formations. As it cools, the crystal forms its iconic hopper-shaped patterns, while oxidation on the surface produces a stunning array of iridescent colours.
