Blue Amber - Sulawesi, Indonesia
Blue Amber - Sulawesi, Indonesia
37g approx 6 x 4 x 2.5cm
This piece has real depth. In natural light, you’re seeing those rich, warm, deep cognac tones. It has that slightly fluid look that good amber carries.
There’s a nice balance here between polished surface and raw edges too. Some parts are smooth and glassy, while others still feel closer to their natural state. You can see the internal textures, soft inclusions and tiny details suspended within it, nothing feels artificial or overly worked.
And then under UV, it shifts completely. That blue fluorescence comes through, which is characteristic of Sulawesi amber. It’s not something you see in every piece, and it gives it a completely different presence when lit that way… almost like a second layer to the stone that only shows itself when you look a bit closer.
It’s a piece you keep turning in your hand. There’s always something else to notice.
