This is such an unusual piece, and Blue Opal from Peru is a completely new find for me. It has beautiful soft blue colouring with cloudy translucent areas, warm golden-brown matrix and delicate black dendritic formations running throughout.

The dendrites resemble tiny branches, trees or ferns trapped inside the stone. They are natural mineral formations, usually created by manganese or iron oxides, and each develops in its own completely individual pattern. Combined with the heart shape and dreamy blue colour, they make this a very special piece.
