Rare carved Charoite with magnificent natural chatoyancy - a zillion times better with richer colouring in the flesh, the pictures do not do them justice.

This Charoite skull from Russia is a really special piece. I say rare because you do not see huge amounts of Charoite being carved, and pieces like this are not something I come across often.

The colour is beautiful, with rich purples, lilac tones and paler areas running through the carving. What really makes these skulls stand out is the chatoyancy. The natural silky shimmer across the Charoite is magnificent, and honestly, they are a thousand times better in the flesh. The photographs really do not do them justice.
