A magnificent piece of Crocite from Dundas, Tasmania

Crocite falls into the toxic category of minerals. Whilst this piece isn't dangerous to be on display, washing of hands is advisable after handling - and please...do not eat it! It is also flammable. It should be kept away from moisture and strong light to preserve its vibrant colour.

A little bit of education surrounding toxic minerals - whilst they can be dangerous, having the in your collection causes no harm. Any crystals with such a vibrant red colour such as this very probably falls into the toxic category. Please do your own research.
