Another lovely piece of genuine Greenland Cryolite, this one made even more interesting by the presence of rich brown Siderite crystals. The contrast between the soft, icy appearance of the Cryolite and the Siderite inclusions creates a distinctive pattern that makes every piece unique.

Cryolite and Siderite from Greenland is very rare, sourced almost exclusively from the world-famous Ivigtut Mine. Located in southwest Greenland, Ivigtut was the only major commercial source of Cryolite ever discovered and is now long closed, making material from this historic locality increasingly difficult to obtain.

Material from Greenland remains highly sought after, particularly as attractive polished pieces become increasingly difficult to source.
