Ethiopian Opal – Welo
Ethiopian Opal – Welo
3g approx 2cm
Authentic Ethiopian Opal in its natural, rough state. Unlike polished stones, these raw pieces show the mineral exactly as it was pulled from the earth, often still encased in a light, sandy matrix. When these catch the light, they reveal flashes of neon green, electric blue, and fiery orange from deep within the milky- or honey-coloured base.
Ethiopian Opals are hydrophane, meaning they are porous and can absorb water, temporarily changing their appearance and transparency. In the rough, they have a tactile, waxy texture and irregular shapes that make them perfect for collectors who prefer stones with their natural geometry intact. Each piece is unique, with different concentrations of colour and varying degrees of internal fire.
Metaphysical Notes:

Ways to Work With It:
Light Study: Move it under a direct light source, such as sunlight, to find the hidden pockets of colour and "fire" within.

Meditation: Hold during quiet reflection to help bring clarity to your emotions and personal goals.
