Naturally Sculpted Kanab Wonderstone
Wind-carved rhyolite from the Utah desert - 290g    14 x 8 x 2.5cm

Each of these striking pieces of Kanab Wonderstone has been shaped by time, not tools. What you're seeing isn't a man-made carving — it's the result of wind, sand, and the slow work of nature over thousands of years.

This particular type of rhyolite is known for its flowing patterns and soft curves, formed from ancient volcanic ash and stained by iron oxides. These layered colours, warm ochres, burnt sienna, and gentle creams, feel almost painted on, but they’re entirely natural.

The piece you see here (and the others I have from this collection) is full of character. Some have arches, others windows or wave-like profiles. They’re raw, grounding, and very tactile — something to hold or display that connects you straight to earth and element.

Metaphysical Notes:

Rhyolite is often associated with inner strength, transformation, and emotional release. It helps anchor scattered energy, making it a lovely companion for meditation or grounding work. These sculpted forms bring in that added energy of stillness — the kind that only comes from weather-worn patience.
